Alright, I decided to goto a tournament today, when I realised...I had no deck! I was panicking, yester day I dismantled my deck because of a hideous 1-win 2-loss record. Now, tohugh some of you hate people like these, I had no time to construct a deck from thought, so I went on metagame.com to see if they had any good decks...
And then I saw it, the SJC Chicago was finishing up today and they had the top 8 deck lists up. So, I made a near mimic deck of the first one I saw, except I made my side-deck. Again, I hated doing this, but I needed a few cards and needed an excuse to go. Now, I couldn't find a few cards that were in there, so I did change a bit of the deck. I used a Legendary Jujitsu Master and some other card in replace for a Sakuretsu Armor and a Magical Merchant.
I got there, chatted for about 10 minutes, and then the tournament begun.
Round 1
Me vs. The best duelist there's GF
Alright, she was playing an over-tribute Zombie deck. I don't exactly remember how round 1 went, but I lost.
Next round I used some sweet combo's and psychology to win. Example : She had a Vampire Lord on the field, I summoned D.D. A. and attacked. Knowing that we'd be removed I took 300 damage. I was hoping she'd call monster and she did, so I picked a dark. I had a light and a dark in the grave yard, guess how it went.
Final round, two turns in I'm at 7300. The judge calls time and gives us the three turn rule. We have three total turns to deal the most damage to each other, whoever has the least at the end of those three turns loses. She draws, and can't do nothing because of my Swrods of R. Light, so she activated hers. I draw, and it was the perfect top deck. I set a trap card and end. She draws, sets a monsters, and ends. In her end phase, I activate CeaseFire, dealing 2000 points of damage for game. I won that round.
Round 2
Me vs. Chris
I had no time to break and was rushed into a duel with my friend Chris, who I typically lose to.
He owns me first round with trample, trample hurts me all day.
I side-in anti-trample and side-out pro-trample cards.
Round 2, I draw crap. 4 traps, a spell, and Chaos Sorcerer. I don't exactly remember much, but I won this round.
Round 3, repeat of last round, nearly the same.
Round 3
Me vs. GraveKeeper guy
Okay, to sum this duel up, I won both matches but the first turn for us was the same. I set a spell/trap and Sangan, he nobleman's it next turn. But I won, even though he had a lot of stall and such.
Round 4
Me vs. Chris(Part two)
Now that I knew his strategy, this was a pretty easy match. I think it went 2-0. Me winning both rounds. I don't know, however.
------------------------------------------
Chris now knows that Trample is a pretty good deck theme, it was hurting my deck the most. So while the next round is starting he begins making a trample deck repeatedly saying that he hates chaos.
------------------------------------------
Round 5
Me vs. Nick(Top two)
Okay, this is the final match of the tournament. I basically am, relentless to my friend Nick in the first round of the duel and win.
Round 2, okay. Nick gets the win on this one using Dark Balter the Terrible. I kept drawing spells, and D.D. A.'s, sucked.
Round 3, I get Nick down to 900 lp some how. I have a Magician of Faith in attack mode, and he has a D.D. Warrior lady. We were joking about how, by the second turn of the duel, we both were relying on top decks. Having neither a field nor a hand. I drew a Mystic Swordsman LV 2. Played Dark Hole, and summoned LV2. I attacked and won, his set card was a Bottomless Trap Hole. I also had a Snatch Steal in my hand, but I wanted to win with MS LV2 for once in my life.
---------------------------------------------------------
For the deck that I decided to change a little and duel with, here's the exact list that I looked off from. My credit goes to him. My final record, 5-wins, 0-losses.
